With the joy of branching out, the tree●1 was feeling more tied to the ground than ever before.1 Not only the air smelled fresh and clean, but the mournful and bitter taste in the soil around her was receding more each day. With curiosity, she bewilderedly began to poke around. There was no other tree but herself on this desolate land,2 and she realized that the slight bitterness in the soil had something to do with the two ancient nuclear towers●2 a little further away.3 Although the damaged soil tormenting her roots was a testament to previous toxicity and suffering, something more hopeful and exhilarating was currently on the horizon. As her leaves started to flourish and her trunk filled with the joy of healing, a new forest was actually on its way.
