"Another Planetary,"Architecture as Measure - Going Live Conversation Series #3. Amelyn Ng and Ross Exo Adams in live conversation with Neyran Turan, Melis Uğurlu, and Ian Erickson. August 29, 2021.

The third episode of the Going Live Online Conversation Series of the Pavilion of Turkey at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale hosted architect Amelyn Ng and architectural theorist Ross Exo Adams. The Going Live Online Conversation Series has taken place periodically throughout the Biennale and has been live-streamed online. In this third episode, curator Neyran Turan, along with the other members of the curatorial team Melis Uğurlu and Ian Erickson, discuss relationships between architecture and planetary imagination at this live conversation with Amelyn Ng and Ross Exo Adams. Amelyn Ng's essay titled "Information-rich Objects" was published in the Paperwork section on our website in February 2021.  During this event, Amelyn talks about her recent work on reimagining new planetary inventories in the context of architectural materiality and media. Ross discusses architecture as a planetary praxis, which considers new vantage points through which we can talk about a planetary sensibility in the midst of our planetary breakdown.

About the author Amelyn Ng is an Australian architect, cartoonist, and Assistant Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design. Amelyn’s contribution titled “Information-rich Objects” was published earlier this year in the Paperwork section on our website. Ross Exo Adams is Assistant Professor and Co-Director of Architecture at Bard College. He is the author of Circulation and Urbanization (Sage, 2019) and writes and presents widely on the intersections of architecture and urbanism with geography and environmental humanities.
